A recent study done on improving quality of life in cancer patients showed yoga leads to decreased stress, reduced side effects, increased natural killer cell counts and increased pain threshold.A second study on the effect of yoga therapy for metastatic breast cancer patients and DNA repair mechanism showed significant decrease in anxiety, depression, perceived stress, pain, insomnia and fatigue.Both studies were conducted by India’s Central Council of Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN) in collaboration with Swami Vivekananda Yoga Research Foundation in Bangalore.
